Idiom 67 – Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Our company has had a difficult year. We just haven’t been getting enough orders for our products. As CEO, I now have to decide whether to lay off (entlassen) some of our workers. If I lay them off, we will no longer have enough staff to fill any big orders that might come in. If I don’t lay them off, we will risk bankruptcy if the big orders don’t come in. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place (die Wahl zwischen Pest und Cholera haben)
